Content creators don’t get the credit they deserve for what actually goes into producing content. Add the spicy content stigma to it and then you have the judgment on top of an already stressful job. As a creator, you have a lot to balance. You have to constantly come up with ideas, create content, edit and publish it, and then promote it. It can be tough to keep up with everything, but there are a few things you can do to improve your time management and productivity. If there's one thing I've learned, the more productive I am with my content, the more money I make. As a spicy content creator and a person diagnosed with ADHD, I find these tips extremely helpful. I know you don’t need to have neurodevelopmental disorder to find these useful regardless of what kind of content you produce.
It’s really important to set yourself with goals and priorities. Start by asking yourself what do you want to achieve as a content creator? Once you know your goals, you can start to prioritize your tasks. For example, if you want to increase your Unfiltrd traffic, you might prioritize promoting it on social media. Once you’ve determined your main focus you can plan the rest around it. For me I had to create a schedule and stick to it as much as I possibly can around my already demanding schedule. I schedule time for content creation, editing and marketing. I also use a couple different apps that help keep me on track. The most useful one I use as of lately is called “Lists To Do.” I'll typically make a list of things I have to do for a certain project and check the tasks off as I go. It’s a lot like the Reminders app for iPhone except this app provides a haptic click that is satisfying as you're completing your projects. It makes you feel like more of a sense of accomplishment and helps keep me on track. This has helped me to stay on track and helped me to avoid getting overwhelmed.
I find it really important to minimize distractions when working on a task. I usually put my phone in Do Not Disturb mode if I’m trying to complete something within a certain timeframe. A text from a friend can easily make a task I want to finish in an hour sidetracked by another hour because then I clicked on that chat and then I started to scroll my Instagram and fell into a scroll hole. Turn off notifications on your devices and find a quiet workspace. Maintaining a distraction-free environment improves your concentration and overall efficiency. Just as important as it is to minimize distractions, it's important to take breaks. Don't underestimate the importance of taking time from away from an already taxing task. Working continuously for long periods can lead to burnout and reduces productivity. And like I've said earlier, the more productive I am the more money I make on my Unfiltrd. Incorporate short breaks into your schedule to recharge your mind, stretch your legs, and return to your work with renewed energy.
It's important to stay updated with industry trends and continuously enhance your content creation skills. I get a lot of followers from my TikTok by staying up on some of the trending videos and partaking in the challenges myself. I dedicate time each week to learn and explore new techniques and strategies for promoting my Unfiltrd. My most current venture has been taking time weekly and posting on Reddit because of the advertising potential. Investing in your professional growth will ultimately boost your productivity and keep your content fresh and engaging and in turn make you more money. Luckily Unfiltrd provides us with tools and workshops to stay on top of the industry trends!
Something else necessary to note is don't be afraid to ask for help. If you're struggling to manage your time, reach out to other content creators you know or contact Stephanie, Brett, Sara or myself for advice. We’re here to help and that’s one of the aspects of Unfiltrd that sets us apart from other platforms. Stephanie has built a community of creators who support each other and help it just a click away.
By following these tips, you can improve your time management and productivity as a content creator. This will help you to achieve your goals and grow your business and in turn make you more money! It's also important to remember that time management is a skill that takes time and practice to develop. Don't get discouraged if you don't get it right away. Just keep practicing and you'll eventually find a system that works for you. Hope this helps! Happy creating!
